All about riding and writing under the influence in Singapore. Hilarity ensues. Sobriety, not so much.
This blog is really about riding your bike. It is almost 90% about commuting to work, in Singapore, a pretty humid country that is no nearer to being bike-friendly than Copenhagen, instead being much closer to perhaps any American city.
We are not that different. Drivers have just as bad a reputation here. Look at me.
I passed my driving exam in less than 6 months.
So well, I don't like screwing around with complaints, whines and rants. I just like to win, and to survive, and to live. Only losers and the dead complain about traffic, especially when they weigh 0.1% on the road as compared to their lightest brethens.
That is what this blog is about. Sure, I've never been to Perth, Australia, or even Boulder, Colorado, US, or the biking capital of the world, Tampines New Town, Singapore. But so what?
Just ride. Love. Don't be afraid to Live. And ridicule every single commuter, hobbyist, or weekend warrior who thinks they own the bloody fucking road because they are the smallest fry on the road.
After all, it is exactly the same anywhere in the world, except Copenhagen.
Or Tampines.
But at least the cycling girls in Copenhagen are hot, right?
Anyway, I post a daily report of each commute, what I've seen, and urm, sometimes I ride after a few drinks, which results in some pretty amusing experiences. If I don't post here anymore, it means I'm either not riding, or it's the weekend, or I've finally gone to that big velodrome in the sky, or that I've finally bought a car.
I have two bikes, the Ibis Mojo you see in the masthead above, and a fully rigid Volkswagen Moose-stang fitted with rear racks and panniers. I ride the rigid bike when I have to bring my laptop to and from the office, and ride the Mojo when I'm feeling footloose and fancy-free.
Both are great bikes. I highly recommend having at least two in my configurations.
